Steve's Web Page
================
Steve has set up a web page with links to some of the programs
we intend to use for our studies. We need to write a tutorial
and include that for people who want to get started.
ROOT
====
We agreed to use C++ and ROOT, since so much has been invested
in this direction at SLAC and elsewhere.
Computing Power
===============
Mayda announced that she will buy about 5 PC's for a farm, intended
to support studies for a gamma-gamma collider. This is very welcome
as even at SLAC it is difficult to obtain CPU, and there are barriers
to giving outsiders accounts.
Plan
====
Start with the "standard" Higgs search as a benchmark. This will
bring some of the newcomers up to speed and help win some credibility.
Goals for the workshop
- physics justification for the SLD project, Ecm(ee) = 100-110
GeV.
(We need to contact the SLD people.)
- Higgs factory: Ecm(gg) = 120 GeV, for example.
- NLC scenario... already in progress.
- comparison to e+e-. are we better? (prepare
for Higgs WS)
Jeff is focussing on optimizing beam parameters with respect to
the conditions at the interaction region.
Mayda: we need to investigate *realistic* polarizations, ie,
Pol(e-) = 80% and Pol(e+) = 50%. Jeff will provide the
needed luminosity files.
Low-E part of the photon spectrum.
